​Irene Delka McCray is an artist and educator. Her paintings and drawings have been exhibited mostly in Colorado, where she now lives. Also nationally and internationally. She is a retired professor of Fine Arts from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Lakewood, CO.

Not Here: This painting was inspired from a window visit to my mother, who had Alzhimer's, during COVID. Over our phones, I asked her pose with her hands up by her face. True to her signature, profound sense of humor, she put her phone on her lap, covered her face with her hands, and said, “I’m not here.”
